Tour itinerary: Land of the high mountains. 7days/6nights
Day 1 Meeting at the Taj/Uzbek border or Dushanbe.
Drive to to Artuch base camp. Along the way to Artuch base camp we will travel over the Shakhristan pass (3378m) and into the amazing Zeravshan Valley. This area is famous for its
unique mountain landscapes and beautiful lakes. Artuch base camp comprises of wooden chalets and cottages set amidst a wide expanse of juniper woods and it is here that we will meet our trekking guides, cook and porters.
Overland transfer today: Tashkent to Uzbek/Tajik border (100 km.,1,5 hrs ), then cross over the
border / continue drive to Artuch base camp (350 km., 6 hrs)
Day 2 Commence trek to Kulikalon Lakes
A well trodden trail takes us up the Urjam River valley through mixed juniper and deciduous groves
covering two giant scree dams steeply rising up the right hand side of the tight gorge. The dams
serve as a natural lter for water running into the stream. The track levels out and once we top the
upper dam, the turquoise necklace of Kulikalon Lakes frame the jagged summits of the Pamir Fann
Mountains including Maria (4970m) Mirali (5120m), Rudaki (4900m) and Adamtash (4700m) which
are known as the “Kulikalon Wall”. After a picnic lunch we continue through the juniper forest and
head to the eastern shore of Bibidjanat Lake for our rst night camping. Sit back, relax and enjoy the
sunset over Mirali Peak.

Day 3 Cross aleuddin Pass (3860m) to aleuddin Lake
After a hearty breakfast we pack up camp and head steeply uphill out of the juniper forest and
alpine meadows to the Adauddin Pass (3860m). Here we will be able to see the entire Kulikalon
Lakes system. The snowcapped peaks of Chapdara (5050m), Bodhona (5138m) and Zamok
(5070m) can also be seen. After a picnic lunch we descend steeply on a rocky path to our campsite
on a glade of Alauddin Lake. This afternoon you can opt for an easy walk around the lakes or relax
at our campsite. (7 km., +960 m./-1060 m, 6 hrs)
Day 4 ascend to Mutnoye Lake (3600m), return to allauddin Lake
We begin today with some steep ups and downs and make our way up to Matnoye Lake. We will
see trailing glaciers, abrupt rock walls and rare birch trees. Nicknamed “Piala” for its round form is
the smallest lake of the system which we will see today. (8 km., ± 800 m., 6 hrs)
Day 5 ascend Laudan Pass to Kulikalon Lakes
The track climbs up the pass to a saddle from which the huge hollow of Kulikalon Lakes and the
western part of the wall are almost completely visible. We will then descend on a wide track to our
camp at Kulikalon Lake. Today, weather permitting is fantastic for photography as we will have
unforgettable panorama views of all surrounding mountains. (12,5 km., +830 m./-730 m., 7 hrs)
Day 6 Cross Gujtan Pass to Zimut
The ascent of Gujtan Pass is relatively easy following a track amongst a grove of Ÿr-trees. After
approx. 2 hours we descend from the pass to the gorge of the Gujtan River and onto the picturesque
village of Guytan. We follow the wide valley of the Achimajdan River to Kishlak Zimut where we will
overnight in homestay.

Day 7 Transfer Zimut to Taj/Uzbek border point or Dushanbe
Today we rest our legs and return to border via the Shakhristan pass. (350 km, 6 hrs.) meals: B,L
For a confirmed booking, a deposit of (10%) is required. Deposit is paid by credit card (secure payment via Stripe, no credit card fees). The remaining balance can be paid in cash upon start of the trip - unless Host & Traveler agree on different payment methods.
Cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the booked service. The deposit (10%) is only refundable if the booking is canceled at least 30 days in advance.
