Russia is a country that extends along the shores of the Arctic Ocean. And the only motorway to the northern coast is on the Kola Peninsula. The path amidst tundra, hills and rocks leads from Murmansk to the fishing village of Teriberka (from the root Ter, which means "rocky shore"). The distance from Murmansk to Teriberka is 130 kilometers, and the journey takes about 2 hours, the time which you will not notice listening the exciting stories of the guide.
The way to Teriberka itself is fascinating with her changing nature. Forest, forest-tundra, tundra, rocky cliffs stretching into the sea. You will find yourself in the once densely populated village of Teriberka, located in the bay of the coast of the Barents Sea. You will discover the severe northern sea, which does not freeze all year round thanks to the warm Gulf Stream.
Recommendations on clothing: a windproof jacket with a hood, trousers and boots for trekking. In October please dress in winter cloths as winds are strong and cold, you must be ready for this. Also, we recommend using contact lenses instead of glasses.
