Our stay with Shuree was ideal. This was a warm caring family who welcomed us in their lives, offered help and translation, and fed us. While we never took public transportation to/from the home, our drivers had no trouble finding the place. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a family experience.
The guide Batshuk was excellent. He had good english and was very helpful. The accommodation and meals very good. Geoff Kricker
We had an amazing time. My friend and I were travelling for four months total, but our week in the Gobi with Duke and Driver was definitely a highlight. They're both a lot of fun, the tour was action-packed and allowed us to be immersed in the culture, and Duke cooks good food.
We had a great experience in Mongolia, especially in Altaï. Taskhyn was a great help to organize the trip. We discuss with him to cutomize the itinerary as we wanted. And he was also a force of new proposal, knowing perfectly his Bayan-Olgii region. Also Taskhyn works with Nurka, our driver. Both work together as a real team to make the trip amazing and memorable.
Zhandaulet is very kind and flexible tour operator. He was more than happy to adjust the Altai Tour to suit our needs. He is very quick to respond to inquiries and provide all necessary information.
Munkhduulga is very friendy and helpful.. He replied to all my questions in short time. I booked his tour 9 days gobi tour without hesitation Many thanks munkhduulga !! Annalisa from italy
This summer we will have a great time crossing Mongolia by bike thanks to Muugii
It was overall a nice experience. Our guide shown us all the destinations as discussed earlier in our plan. we requested a short horse riding and she arranged it. But for the new travelers I would like to advice from our experience , Mongolia is not complete without ger camping ,horse riding , camel riding ...so make a deal when you are clear about all these. because our friends did all these in winter too. We stayed with a nomad family , but I have no knowledge about them because no interaction. No toilet inside. People should know everything before going. We are different human beings so we have different problems. A guide should understand this. We faced problems regarding food. same food and same preparation. I advice our guide , at least asking is necessary sometimes. If there is no chicken , I would say egg , if no egg then vegetables , or even fruits , so please ask. But overall our guide was very cooperative , she tried as much as possible to make us comfortable , she is a good human being and helped us almost at every situation , last day muugii and her husband gave us their time for our shopping and also pay for us , as we were sort of Mongolian currency. I recommend her strongly and for travelers who are willing to go Mongolia , it is difficult to see Mongolia in winter ..but we have enjoyed the snow valley and mountains but the cold was tremendous. Summer is the right time to enjoy. I thank Muugii and her husband for this wonderful trip , even for the next time we would love to go with her.
Munkhduulga has been very patient and helpful with my many questions about a trip through Mongolia. After a number of emails (sent promptly) we have agreed on a tour. Looking forward to meeting in May!
Our trip was so perfectly organised and planned by Tamiraa. We had no idea what a wonderful trip this would turn out to be. Right from pickup at the airport to drop, we were always helped with a smile which made us feel we were spending time with family in a new and unknown place. Her association with the locals is amazing and she surely knows what tourists like us want/expect from a trip. Choice of food was perfect and we have no complains. From living in a ger in the icy desert (our visit was in January 2017) to finding wild horses in the Khustai National park and learning about Mongolian History at the Chinggis Khan complex and finding the Tarbosaurus Bataar at the National Museum of Mongolian Dinosaurs, it was an awesome journey together. Our first day was with a nomad family. There was enough supply of firewood and fuel to make sure the fire does not run out. Warm woolen blankets and sleeping bags were also provided to make sure we dont feel cold at any time. The hospitability of the family was something we never expected in a foreign land. Since we were travelling in winter and with the temperatures not familiar to us (being from Calcutta, India where temperatures are never sub zero), Tamiraa made sure we were comfortable at all times. She never rushed us in the trip even when we were taking up too much time at a particular spot. She was also very patient with us being very noisy people. Special mention of Bartaa is much required i feel. He is a man of many qualities. Great driving skills and personality.
This was undoubtedly one of the best trips I've ever taken. As a solo female traveler, I was a little hesitant about this tour. However, Duke turned out to be one of the most down to earth and sociable guys I've met! Also his driver is an extremely sweet, caring man who did an amazing job. The Gobi Desert is definitely a very special place. It is absolutely stunning in the winter time. It's pretty empty in the winter so it feels like you have the whole desert to yourself. It was awe inspiring. I really can't put it into words. You have to see it to believe it. In the evenings we stayed with very kind nomadic families who clearly have established a great relationship with Duke and his driver. These nights have some of my fondest memories of the trip. I asked Duke many questions about Mongolian culture and history and he did a fantastic job teaching me countless things. This trip helped me fall in love with Mongolia. I'm also leaving the country with a new friend and a stronger understanding of this culture. Thanks so much to Duke for all his hard work. Even though I was a solo traveler, he really made sure I had the best time, always checking up on me and making sure I was comfortable and happy. Indy Guide was also a very efficient and useful platform to use - the whole process of organizing the trip was very simple. Overall I highly recommend Duke's services and the chance to experience the beauty of Mongolian nature and the warmth of Mongolian hospitality.
Contact with Aynabek went very well, all questions were answered as requested, in a timely manner. We also did some independent research and found very good reviews about him.
Taskhyn and his team did a tremendous job in organizing my 12 days trip to western mongolia even though I only engaged him less than 1 month before the actual date. His team (the guide, the driver and the cook) were all very good at what they do and always went the extra miles to make sensible tweak to the trip to make me felt comfortable and get tge most out of the trip. I highly recommend Taskhyn to anyone who is looking for a value for money, unforgettable trip to Mongolia.
Muugii and Mottu were great! The tour in itself was beautiful, and we're glad we had the chance to experience the Gobi just outside the main tourist season.
Khuanysh and his father led an authentic Western Mongolian experience. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find someone that knows the land better than they. Overall positives and negatives below: Positives: - They were very hospitable and allowed a lot of flexibility in activities and route - Extensive connections throughout Western Mongolia - Authentic, non-touristy experience - Accommodating with personal preferences as well as dietary restrictions - Adventurous and spontaneous trip Negatives: - English barrier caused for a heavy amount of miscommunication - Did not properly set expectations - Lack of historical knowledge Recommendations: - Do your own research for what you want to see/ do in UB and in Western Mongolia so that you come educated with activities that will be fulfilling. This will ensure that you get the most out of your journey.
We did a 7 days tour to the Gobi desert with Duke and his Driver Sak. It was a very nice time with them. We saw a lot of the country. The organisation was good. He could tell us a lot of the culture of mongolia. Further Duke is a good cooker. We felt as we were traveling with friends. It was a unforgettable time.
We did a 9 day trip to the Gobi with Duke and we had the best time! Duke is a great guide and guy. He is very professional, his English is really good and he knows a lot about Mongolian history and culture. The planning via email in advance to our trip was already really smooth. Duke always replied promptly and had an answer to all our questions. During the trip he would make sure that everything went as planned and always went the extra mile (like making Mongolian sushi in the middle of the Gobi, getting treats like ice cream, preparing a Mongolian barbecue, etc.). As you can tell from my description before, he also is a good cook. Moreover he had good ideas about adjusting our tour so we would get the most out of it. We also have to say that we also were very lucky with our driver Saagi. The two of them were a real dream team! To sum it up, we really recommend doing a tour with Duke!!! Thank you Duke, we had the best time with you!
